# Plans

Every Swytchcode account is on a plan. Plans control how many live commands you can run each month, whether you can create teams, how long workspace logs are kept, and whether approval workflows are available.

## Yearly billing

Yearly plans charge **10 months** of the monthly price, so you save two months compared with paying monthly.

## Monthly command limit

Every plan includes a monthly number of live commands. When you reach it, Swytchcode tells you how many you've used and how to upgrade. Your limit resets each month.

- Only live commands count. Dry runs, `--explain`, and demos are free.
- You can run your first **2 live commands without signing in**. After that, run `swy login` to keep going. Those two also don't consume dry runs, `--explain`, or demos.
- The dashboard may take a little while to show your latest usage.
- **Agents and CI:** commands run with an API key (`swy_key_...`) don't count toward your monthly limit.

Usage metering is separate from [telemetry](/cli/telemetry/). Disabling telemetry does not disable usage metering for billable executions.

## Upgrading and downgrading

- Upgrade any time from Billing. Your new limits apply straight away.
- If you reach your monthly command limit, upgrade to keep running commands, or wait for it to reset next month.
- If your subscription lapses, you get a short grace period. After that, paid features stop working until you renew.

### If a payment fails

Your card is retried automatically and you'll get an email from Stripe. You keep access for a short grace period, so a failed payment doesn't cut you off immediately. Update your card in Billing to stay active.
